Hello!! I’m Ayris Izmirli, an undergraduate student who currently lives in NJ. I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, and moved to New Jersey 10 years ago. I am fluent in both Turkish and English. I am finishing up my degrees in both Neuroscience and Psychology this semester, and plan to pursue a career in health sciences and medicine in the future. Outside of classes, I do research in Dr. Cousen’s lab about olfactory processes and the olfactory cortex dealing with food flavoring. In addition, I am currently working on the effects SARS-CoV-2 virus on olfaction and gustation for my capstone. In my free time, I love to spend time traveling, visiting new food spots, finding new music, and anything photography and fashion related.
